Covid-19 emergency fund
Since COVID-19 hit New Orleans, many of our community members have become unemployed and are struggling to meet basic needs. We have set up a walk-in community food bank in Village de l'Est neighborhood, and are distributing dry goods, produce and hygiene products (including wipes, masks, gloves, diapers and more) weekly to approximately 150 households throughout the city. We are also supporting uninsured community members who have unexpected emergency medical costs due to the pandemic.
Program support
Please let us know if you can support with funds or in-kind donations for the following programmatic needs:
Education: School supplies, uniforms, student sponsorship
Health: Medical equipment (blood pressure cuffs, glucose monitors, first aid) eyeglasses, breast exams, dentist check-ups for uninsured children
Civic: Volunteer attorneys, notaries, citizenship test teachers
Cultural: Costumes, face painting, dancers, history and culture teachers and practitioners
