Welcome To
El pueblo nola - nola village

El Pueblo NOLA / NOLA Village is a community organization rooted in the Village de l'Est neighborhood of New Orleans East, founded by community organizer Cristiane Rosales-Fajardo and powered entirely by volunteers.

We serve the communities of New Orleans East through three interconnected pillars:

Education

We help parents advocate for their children’s rights in school. We ensure families understand their options, secure appropriate placements, and overcome unexpected barriers in the education system. When needed, we also guide parents in obtaining high-quality educational evaluations so that every child obtains the support they deserve.

Civic/Community Engagement

We provide comprehensive direct mutual aid to families and individuals. We support animal needs by providing food, assisting with veterinary services, including spaying and neutering, and helping place domestic animals without a home. We connect people with legal resources and offer Know Your Rights training.

Cultural Life

We celebrate and preserve our community's cultural heritage through programming, language access, and rights advocacy. From the vibrant rhythms of Garifuna Days to the beloved Día de los Muertos parade, our events bring people together and keep culture alive.

Beyond providing services, we are committed to valuing the dignity, resilience, and culture of every person we serve.

Volunteer. Make an Impact.

“My hard-earned skill sets as a survivor of multiple traumas mean that I back up my words with lived experience, knowing that no matter where you are in the world, you deserve to have rights and services. I organize to flip the script and create a new dynamic for my community.”
